GLAY brief biography !

GLAY is one of the most popular band in Japan. The band started as a high school band, in 1988. But they officially made their debut in 1994, where they became instantly popular each year. Their best success is a compilation named 'REVIEW', it became the 'all-time best-selling' album in Japan with 5 millions copies sold!!!

how did the band got created?

When TAKURO asked TERU to play the drums, they had trouble to find a vocalist. So TERU recorded his singing on a cassette, when TAKURO listened to it, he immediately recruited him as the vocalist.

Then, TAKURO asked HISASHI to join the band, he declined, but ended up accepting the offer as a 2nd guitarist. They already had a drummer and a bassist so they started to play in their hometown, Hakodate. They went popular around here at that time.



After their graduation, they decided to move to Tokyo. But the drummer and bassist chose to stay in Hakodate. Since then, they got trouble finding members, people joined, leaved, joined, leaved... it was bad.
Finally, TAKURO asked JIRO, who was already in a band called Pierrot, to move to Tokyo and join GLAY as the bassist. JIRO refused at first (like HISASHI lolll), but in 1992, he finally joined the band, completing the GLAY lineup we knows! It's such a silly and cute story, I love them sooo much!! <33
